Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 movie for which she received the British Academy Television Award as the Best Actress. French, German English and Romanian are all spoken fluently. Her mother was a violinist The father of her is a theatre professor at one of Romania's best theater schools. At the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors, she won the Best Female Actor Award 2000. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. In 2007, she was in as a character in the Romanian movie 4 luni 3 weeks si2 (4 Three Weeks, Four Months 3 Weeks, 2 days), by Cristian Mungiu. The film won two awards at Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also a part of her professional career. She appeared in 2008 as Yasim in Angwar, the BBC Five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well as the Romanian drama Boogie. The actress later played a significant performance in the 2014 film Fury where she played the role of a German woman known as Irma the aunt of Emma.
