
Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18, 1980)[1] is an American actress and singer. Beginning her acting career by performing in stage productions when she was attending the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, she made her Broadway stage debut in the role of Becky Thatcher in the comedy musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and appeared in the Broadway revival of The Crucible the following year. She later appeared in the action-thriller film Spartan (2004) and received praise for her performance in the television drama film Gracie's Choice (2004).Her first major role was the title character in the teen noir TV series Veronica Mars (2004-2007), getting praise from the critics and winning an Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television for her performance. The character was reprised in the 2014 film as well as the renewal in 2019. Bell played the role from 2007 until 2008 in the role of Elle Bishop in Heroes, an action-packed superhero series. She played the character of the title narrator in the teen drama series Gossip Girl, reprising the role in the sequel in 2021. Bell was also the Showtime comedian House of Lies' lead actress, Jeannie van de Hooven. Bell was the lead character Eleanor Shellstrop, the leading character on the critically acclaimed NBC comedy show The Good Place. She was nominated for an Golden Globe Award.
